Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American sportscaster. She works for ESPN and is a SportsCenter anchor for news. She joined ESPN in the year of 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been since her age of nine. The ability to speak two languages allowed her to land her first job with Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. She was hired as reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. After 2009, the reporter relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. She covered stories about immigration and drug trafficking throughout Texas and Mexico. The station also frequently asked her to be anchors for the weather and sports. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallasthe affiliate of Univision Dallas, and she has more responsibility. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS, and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Besides this, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra on which she served as the anchor. She worked as the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. She also served as anchor of the sports segment on Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November 1985. Her older sister is also hers. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In 1992, her parents separated soon after. In 1995, she remarried Fabio Fajardo, naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, younger Collins took a place alongside her elder sister. Antonietta still a senior at high school but she was clear about the career she wanted. When she was deciding whether Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta decided to go visit the school. The campus was beautiful and offered the degree she wanted. After completing the requirements for high school, she was accepted into the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a part. They developed a close relationship. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
