Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins (born in Mexico) is the Mexican American broadcaster. Her current job is with ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. She was hired by ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been so since her age of nine. This skill allowed her to land her first job with Univision, Miami. She worked with national producers on programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was reporter for sports at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley in Texas and became an editor for KNVO48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was a substitute for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Later, she was anchor and reporter on Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and the NBA Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also hosted on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She worked as anchor for the sports segment of Despierta America Deportes morning show. Also, she was an anchor on sports in Primer Impacto, a magazine show on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually were moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an elder sister. There is an older sibling. Within a brief time her father divorced from her mother. She later remarried in the year 1995 to a naval architect called Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo died of kidney cancer in the year 2006. The couple stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister in the summertime in which she was provided with an opportunity to work. Antonietta was a senior in high school, yet she knew exactly what career path she wanted. While deciding if Mount Union would be a good fit to her needs, Antonietta decided to go visit the campus. She discovered that she liked the campus, and the university offered the major she wanted. Her high school graduation was in the spring of 2004 and was enrolled in media studies at the college. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the manager for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was an affiliate. His passion for journalism and her self-confidence encouraged her. She in turn, tried to meet the standards he set and to not disappoint him.
