Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toniz Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins in the US as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently employed by ESPN as a news anchor for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. Her first assignment with ESPN in the year 2016. The daughter of TV journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual since she was nine years old, a valuable talent that enabled her to get her first job as a production assistant at Univision in Miami and gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS station in St. Petersburg hired her after this as a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become a news reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In addition to reporting on issues related to immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the border, she was a reporter on newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for the 9 p.m. news in English as well as a reporter again for news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. At some point they relocated from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on 22 November 1985. She also has an older sibling. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother remarried a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who died from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, the younger Collins had taken a position with her older sister. Antonietta, a high-school senior having a clear idea of where she wanted her future to be like, visited Mount Union University to see what she could get out of the college. It was a beautiful campus and offered the degree she wanted. She graduated from high school and was enrolled in media studies at the university. Professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was member of the class, established an ongoing relationship with her. Her professor urged her to have self-confidence and was deeply touched by his passion for journalism.
